A Dedication to the Clone of Judas

By Kathy Nisley
Written about and given to her Psychiatrist at the Madison Center

I loathe the lips of saintly men
who wear a cheap disguise-
Who mask compassion on their face
while deceit screams from their eyes.
I detest their egocentric attitudes-
cringe at their arrogance,
Despise their contradictory ways
That'll betray you at a glance.
'Trust me,' and 'I want to help!'
are the lies they speak to me.
But the message they deliver,
is only meant to be ...
a crown of thorns-
a kiss of death-
'to entice you with their charm ...
a seductive trick -
a manipulative tactic-
that is sure to do you harm.
To win your trust and faith in them,
so they can slap me in the face,
And multiply the horrors
that this lifetime won't erase.
But they'll paint that pretty picture
as they deceive you
with their smiles ...
but sooner or later the truth
is known-
as they compound
your pain and trails.
I abhor their pompous little styles,
detest their little games ...
I'm violated by their cruelty
as they undermine the pain.
The honesty they want from me
is merely a ticket to more hell ...
that already been delivered -
so I've learned my lesson well.
So threaten me with whips
and chains -
Cuff me to a wall -
But the wall that I've now
built -
is guaranteed to never fall.
There are no tactics man can use
to restore my faith in them.
So my prognosis will just remain -
A battle they'll never win.
I'll close this with some wisdom,
Although my life has been destroyed.
Maybe it will spare others -
from the fraud that you employ ...
"Relationships are built on trust,
which is NOT something that is learned.
You can demand, insist,
til you are blue-
but trust is ALWAYS earned.
And as we recall promises,
and all the lies that I
have heard ...
There's a recollection that a man
is only as good
as is ...
his word.
